Michael Recek — Owner & Lead Technician
Michael is the hands-on, IICRC-trained technician who personally handles the majority of SurfaceTech jobs. Reviews describe him again and again as polite, professional, knowledgeable, and fair — the kind of person who reschedules on his day off to fit you in, and who brings a carpet customers had written off back to life.
The SurfaceTech van carries everything we need: a ProChem truck-mount / portable extraction system, the MH Pro Force 360 rotary tool for tile and grout, and a commercial upright for the all-important pre-vacuum step.

Most carpet cleaning you'll find is franchise or crew-based: a salesperson quotes you, a technician you've never met shows up, and the person whose name is on the door is nowhere on the job. I built SurfaceTech to be the opposite. I'm the one who answers the phone, the one who inspects your carpet, and the one accountable if anything isn't right. There's no layer between you and the person responsible for the result.
That accountability shapes every job. Because my name and reputation ride on each clean, I have no reason to rush you, oversell, or skip the steps that don't show — pre-vacuuming, pre-treating, detailing the edges. I'd rather do it right the first time than earn a callback for the wrong reason. It's also why I stay IICRC-trained: the training keeps my methods current on fibers, stains, and equipment, so I'm not guessing on your floors.

I'm the owner and the IICRC-trained technician who personally handles the great majority of jobs, so the person you speak with on the phone is almost always the person cleaning your floors. I'm IICRC-trained, and SurfaceTech is licensed and insured. On every visit I bring professional ProChem hot-water extraction, an MH Pro Force 360 rotary tool for tile and grout, and a commercial upright for the pre-vacuum step. The training matters because it keeps my methods current on different carpet fibers, stains, and surfaces instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.
I founded SurfaceTech in July 2019, so we've been serving the Central Valley for several years now. Many of the customers who first called in 2019 are still regulars today, which is why the business has grown almost entirely by word of mouth and referrals rather than heavy advertising.
I'm based at 4686 N Hughes Ave in Fresno and serve Fresno, Clovis, and the surrounding Central Valley communities. To be straight with you: I don't operate outside the Central Valley. I publish some California statewide carpet-cleaning resource pages as helpful reading, but the hands-on cleaning service is local — if you're not sure whether you're in my area, just call and ask.
